About Adrienne O’Neal

Adrienne O'Neal is a counselor providing individual, couples and family therapy with a Nevada license in Marriage & Family Therapy, and maintains a private practice offering counseling in Las Vegas, Nevada. The office is located in the Summerlin area of west Las Vegas.

As a private practitioner, Adrienne works with a broad spectrum of clients, including couples, teens, and childhood sexual abuse survivors. Among her areas of focus are depression, anxiety, addictions, infidelity, blended families, bullying, and cultural issues.

The main goal is to provide a confidential and nurturing environment to help overcome a variety of life issues and personal challenges, as well as to promote personal growth and development. With compassion and understanding, she counsels to help build on strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.

Adrienne describes herself as a military brat, the child of a parent serving full-time in the United States Armed Forces. This means having grown up with a sense of not belonging anywhere. She moved 10 times before graduating from high school in Germany. Although Las Vegas has been home for decades, she got the travel bug and believes extensive travel internationally and training has given her a cultural competence in race and ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability status, and other demographic characteristics.

Working with interracial, mixed race, and bi-cultural couples and families are areas of focus for Adrienne. Different racialized histories and experiences set interracial and intercultural couples apart from other dyads, and can influence the types of problems they encounter in their relationships and families. Many cultural values remain dormant until couples have children, and the question of which values and traditions to adopt or transmit becomes an investment. One potential conflict in relationships is defining the roles of parents and children.

Helping leaders examine how their own history or experience might contribute to perfectionism (the workaholic), passive-aggressive behavior, or competition which creates challenges at work. High functioning professionals, including CEOs and other stressed executives, despite considerable career success, may experience depression, anxiety, loneliness and a sense of meaninglessness. The high-pressured life often makes it difficult to maintain a satisfactory work/life balance, and attempts at self-care may, at times, lead to alcohol abuse and other behaviors that jeopardize close relationships.
